Self Rebellion

Privacy
& Data

Self Rebellion is interested in what people choose to do, not in building profiles about who they are.

We collect as little information as we reasonably can.

What we collect

If you choose OK WITH ME, we create a random browser session ID. We may record how you arrived at Self Rebellion, which Self Rebellion campaign brought you here, whether you hit GO and, only if you choose to write it, what you're going to do.

We don't ask for your name, email address, date of birth or demographic profile.

If you choose NO THANKS

You can still use Self Rebellion. We don't create the session ID or record your journey through this Phase 1 measurement system. Saying no doesn't change the experience.

Your words

Writing anything is optional.

No names. No contact details. Self Rebellion doesn't need to know who you are.

If you do write something, please don't include information that identifies you or somebody else.

Free-text responses are kept for no longer than 90 days and are then deleted. We may retain aggregated statistics that don't contain your written response.

Our lawful basis for this Phase 1 measurement is consent. If you choose OK WITH ME, you consent to us using the information described in this notice to understand whether Self Rebellion helps people move from watching to doing. You can withdraw that consent at any time.

Self Rebellion is currently in its first testing phase. We're trying to understand whether the idea actually helps people move from watching to doing.

We don't sell this information, use it for advertising or use it to build commercial profiles about you.

Storage on your device

If you choose “OK WITH ME”, we use browser session storage to hold a random session ID for the session. We don't currently use advertising or behavioural-tracking cookies.

Who is responsible?

Self Rebellion is currently operated by Kerry and Steve. They are responsible for the information collected through this Phase 1 test.

Privacy questions or requests can be sent to selfrebellion25@gmail.com.

Who helps us run the site?

We use service providers to host and operate Self Rebellion and its database. At present, our core web infrastructure is provided by Cloudflare. We don't give advertisers access to the information collected through this test.

Your choices and rights

Taking part in the measurement is optional. You can choose “NO THANKS” and still use Self Rebellion.

Changed your mind? Return to Self Rebellion and choose again. Choosing NO THANKS removes the Phase 1 session ID from your browser session and stops further Phase 1 measurement during that visit.

You can contact us if you have a question about your information or want to exercise a data protection right that applies to you. Because we deliberately don't ask who you are, there may be situations where we cannot identify which anonymous or pseudonymous record relates to you.

If you have concerns about how your information is being handled, you can also contact the UK's data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), at ico.org.uk .
